About YogaBugs

YogaBugs is an imaginative, dynamic and inspired way of bringing the benefits of yoga to children aged 2½ -7 years old. Traditional yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques are taught through exciting story adventures that capture the children’s imagination whilst enabling them to enjoy the beneficial practice of Yoga.

Yoga teacher, director and co-founder, Fenella Lindsell says: “Adults have enjoyed the health and lifestyle benefits of yoga for centuries; now it’s time for us to teach our children that yoga can be fun, whilst helping and supporting them through the various changes on their journey to adulthood. Yoga improves children’s co-ordination and balance, builds strength and stamina and promotes healthy sleeping patterns. It is also valuable for pre-teen children who go through a great deal of physical, mental and emotional changes.”

Why Not Top-Up Your Writing Hours by Teaching Children’s Yoga

Being a YogaBugs (for 2 ½ - 7 year olds) or Yoga’d Up (for 8-12 year olds) teacher provides a rewarding career that works around the hours that suit you and provides a valuable income. The YogaBugs or Yoga’d Up weekend training course is suitable for yoga teachers and those interested in children’s development through the science of yoga. There's a minimal requirement of two years regular and continual yoga practice for YogaBugs and five years for Yoga’d Up. On completing and passing the course, you'll be able to successfully conduct a variety of 30 minutes to 1 hour classes that each incorporate a series of warm up exercises, a story for the younger children and fun themed classes for the Yoga’d Up age group that include between 15 to 30 yoga postures, games, songs and relaxation time. The training courses each account for 16 credits towards Continued Professional Development for Yoga Teachers registered with the Register of Exercise Professionals.

Each training weekend is £495 including VAT and include how to manage and structure classes, 10 weeks of pre-prepared class plans and information about remedial postures and yoga for children with Additional Needs. The cost of the course can be recouped after only 13 hours of teaching. There's a £100 discount if both courses are taken within 6 months of each other. Teachers are all given access to an interactive teacher zone for advice, support and topical class plans in addition to the opportunity to share experiences, plus website advertising and support from Head Office
