No time for sex?

With the combined roles of career women, mum, cook and cleaner, it’s not surprising that today’s independent woman makes love far less often than women in the Fifties. A recent study revealed a changing attitude to love, sex and marriage over the decades, in line with a change in priority for today’s independent women. In the Fifties, a married woman’s priority was keeping her husband happy – along with cooking, cleaning and caring for the children – and this included making love more than twice a week. In contrast, juggling careers with home life takes precedence for today’s women over satisfying their partners, and many make love just three/ four times a month because they are often too tired at the end of a hectic day.

According to Doctor Terri Apter (social psychologist at Cambridge University) “the generation of women in the Fifties and Sixties really didn’t have enough in their lives to fill their time, whereas now the typical woman has far too much to do”. Such pressures on time leave women (and men) less inclined or able to fit in sex.

TAKE TIME OUT FOR YOURSELF...& GET IN THE MOOD TONIGHT, WITH RADOX

Roger Tabor, botanist, biologist and author of 'All about Herbs', says:
“Surveys show that the massive surge of interest in herbal products that has occurred over the last 10 years has been spearheaded by women more than men, and that the typical user is a young mum in her mid-30’s. In a world of increasing pressures on a working mum, there's a real need to give you some time to relax and unwind. To indulge yourself with your own delightfully scented home spa experience, rather than ‘just take a bath’, is far more likely to allow you to let the stress in your life drift away and for your mood to be enhanced and you to become relaxed and refreshed. Consequently Radox have appreciated that there's potentially a great demand for products that meet these needs and aspirations.”

“In addition to the existing Herbal Bath range, Radox have produced a new series of bath products called ‘Radox Aromatic Bath Essences’ to extend their range with particular appeal to today’s woman. She wants to reward herself with not just a relaxing soak but to enjoy a more enhanced, indulgent bathing experience. These new premium Radox products continue to be based on herbal materials, but have turned to the more exotic spectrum of botanics.”

“Jasmine and Hibiscus, as the chosen herbs for the 1st of the new range of Radox Aromatic Bath Essences, Spoil Me, show how these herbal materials have not just been chosen for their scent. Jasmine certainly fits the ‘pampering’ profile for it has a rich warm floral fragrance. Perfumers have called it ‘the King of Flowers’, and its exotic scent was extracted by the more costly method of enfleurage. Its value in aromatherapy or in your bath is that it enhances moods and lifts anxiety. By easing nervous exhaustion it can induce a more romantic mood. Hibiscus evokes exotic places and is soothing to the skin.”

“Cinnamon and Acacia, which Radox are using in ‘Embrace Me’ has qualities in keeping with the existing products for they can ease muscle aches. However, Cinnamon is an oriental spice, with a distinctive aromatic oil, can also lift your fatigue. Acacia brings the scent of tropical flowers.”

…MORE INDULGENT SOLUTIONS

Radox also have an existing premium bath range called "solutions”, which combine natural ingredients renowned for their therapeutic benefits with a unique blend of Essential Oils. The two latest additions to the range are:

tender loving care?…Radox solutions gentle embrace with waterlily and rose is a gentle white foam bath with a soft and warming fragrance – perfect for when you’re in need of some TLC – gentle embrace is new to the range this month and joins desire?…Radox solutions pure passion with cassia, a luscious pink bath foam that will caress you in a rich and sensual bath whilst delighting your senses with its rich and fruity fragrance.
