HRT tablets-what do you want to know?
PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release: 2 August 2006
HRT tablets – what do you want to know?
Deciding whether to take HRT tablets can be very confusing. Are they right for you? Which dose do you need? Should you be taking a combination product or an oestrogen-only one? These questions need to be answered with the guidance of a health professional, but it helps to have some background information.
In the Summer 2006 issue of The Menopause Exchange newsletter, pharmacist and writer Mary Allen compares HRT tablets with HRT patches and looks at the differences between combination and oestrogen-only products. She also has some essential advice on switching between HRT products.
“Many women decide to take HRT tablets, but don’t realise that there are so many different types,” says Norma Goldman, founder and director of The Menopause Exchange. “Our article looks at the pros and cons of the different products available and how women should make a decision.”
This article is the second in a three-part series on HRT products. The first article looked at HRT hormones, while the final article will look at the other forms of HRT.
The Menopause Exchange covers a wide range of subjects like menopausal symptoms, HRT and its alternatives, nutrition and lifestyle and medical conditions (e.g. breast cancer). It is completely independent – it is not sponsored by any companies and is funded purely by subscriptions. Other articles in the Summer 2006 issue include bloating, aches and pains and cooking at the menopause. The Menopause Exchange has an Ask the Experts panel and fact sheets specifically for members.
For more info on The Menopause Exchange, write to The Menopause Exchange at PO Box 205, Bushey, Herts WD23 1ZS, call 020 8420 7245, fax 020 8954 2783 or send an e-mail to norma@menopause-exchange.co.uk
