Through YogaBugs adventures, children fly on mystical birds, float on magic carpets, take supersonic missions to outer space and visit far away beautiful places. They help animals and creatures on exciting journeys, make huge discoveries, new friends and are always the heroes of their story! Twists, back arches, forward bends, balances and standing postures are woven together to stimulate the children's imagination and enable them to share their experiences with friends and family.

YogaBugs is a fun, inspiring way to bring the beneficial practice of yoga to children aged 2½ - 7 years old through imaginative story telling combined with traditional yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques. As the leading provider of children’s yoga classes in the UK, YogaBugs teaches around 40,000 children each week and YogaBugs the book is guaranteed to spread the Bug even further.

Brimming with colour and fun themed yoga adventures, YogaBugs turns yoga, an activity traditionally associated with adults into a fun, creative playground for children through a series of stories, journeys and games. The book begins with explaining the positive benefits of yoga for their physical and mental health. Next we put theory into practice with breathing and warm-up techniques followed by the YogaBugs adventures – the central part of the book – which include suggestions to help the children relax, enjoy visualization techniques and finally benefit from the positive affirmations contained in the stories.

Yoga has also been medically proven to help with many aspects of children’s health, including sleeping problems, anxiety, asthma, hyperactivity and sinus problems, as well as troubling emotional issues. It maintains strength and flexibility and can help prevent injury.

Both for those who have already caught the YogaBugs bug and those curious to find out more, this book is a delightful companion to an activity that will stretch your children’s imaginations, and may even become a friend for life.

About the author
Fenella Lindsell has taught yoga for 18 years. YogaBugs featured twice on BBC2's Dragons' Den in 2006 and 2007, when founders Lindsell and business partner Lara Goodbody approached the programme to fund a plan to franchise their business throughout the UK. They turned down three offers of investment and the opportunity of a buyout and went on to find a better deal. Since the show aired the business has gone from strength to strength: YogaBugs has now trained more than 1,200 teachers who bring classes to children throughout the UK and Ireland. New government initiatives and funding programmes are helping to facilitate more children taking part in regular classes before, during and after school.
