New Osteopathic Case Studies March 2007

Osteopathy is effective in helping many acute aliments and preventing chronic conditions. During treatment osteopaths find and treat the cause of problems rather than seek to just alleviate the symptoms. From babies to the elderly – osteopathy really is for all. Following are some examples...

Danny – Paranoid Schizophrenic

Danny has been diagnosed as suffering from "paranoid schizophrenia" and epilepsy and is taking medication for both.

The symptoms of the schizophrenia are hearing voices telling him to do things, or say nasty things when he is anxious.

He has been having regular osteopathic treatment for some time and has reported that the voices are becoming less frequent since having osteopathic treatment. Danny is highly intelligent and articulate and is a successful artist.

Sophie – baby

Sophie was delivered via C-Section on 10 October 06 and due to the operation was born with cranial dysfunction – a distorted head, wasn’t sleeping and was crying all the time.

Sophie had her first osteopathic treatment aged 4 weeks on 11th November and subsequently had her second treatment w/c 20th November.

Her Mother, Vanessa, is overwhelmed with the difference in Sophie – Sophie is no longer crying; is sleeping through the night, her head became a normal shape and is now a relaxed and happy baby.
Vanessa is adamant this is due to Osteopathy and is happy to be photographed with Sophie and tell her own story too….

Vanessa – SPD

Vanessa suffered from SPD when pregnant with Sophie (her second child) and as SPD is a suicidal condition and so incredibly painful that women often find it difficult to walk, she was in a bad way. She heard about a local osteopath, Hector Wells (in Banbury) who had treated women with SPD with success and visited him for a treatment.
One treatment is all it took – the SPD (depression and pain) stopped and she felt like a new woman

There's currently an ongoing project taking place in Banbury where the local health visitors are recommending patients to visit Hector and he has treated 50 women to date

Anthony – Parkinson’s

Anthony suffers with Parkinson's disease and says that osteopathy definitely helps him in regard to the Parkinson's.

Carol – Cystitis

Carol has suffered from chronic severe cystitis and is finding osteopathic treatment very helpful for the condition. Two of her grandchildren receive osteopathic treatment from the same osteopath

Sue – Mother of three children

Sue has three children who receive osteopathic treatment - one of her young daughters has been treated for recurrent tonsillitis and her baby son was treated for recurrent ear infections.
