WOKKA SAKi partners with Harrods for Truly British month
PRESS RELEASE September 2005
WOKKA SAKi partners with Harrods for Truly British month
First retail and bar stockists
New ultra premium WOKKA SAKi partners with Harrods for events during the store’s Truly British month (until 16 October). The brand’s official launch will be co-hosted by Harrods on 29 September. In addition, other retail stockists and leading bar experts have been generous in their praise of this adventurous new spirit. With its blend of micro distilled British grain vodka, fine Japanese sake, and a subtle essence of Asian fruit, WOKKA SAKi has a completely unique taste and ‘east meets west’ appeal. It is set to be a dynamic challenger amongst luxury vodkas.
Harrods
The Truly British theme comes alive throughout the store and coincides with WOKKA SAKi’s own launch by Cellar Trends Ltd. Harrods is the 1st UK retailer. As well as a prominent WOKKA SAKi window display, there are several opportunities for consumers to taste. The collaboration culminates in the Truly British fashion show on 29 September, when the English National Ballet performs to music by The Chemical Brothers.
During the Truly British season until mid October, Harrods’ launch price for WOKKA SAKi is £25.95.
Usual retail price range will be £25 to £30.
·A feature window with 47 Wokka Saki bottles.
·The Truly British fashion show and Harrods VIP launch party, 29 September celebrates the best of British tailoring from Sir Paul Smith to Vivienne Westwood on this lavish night

What experts say
Ajaz Sheikh, Food & Beverage Manager, The Lanesborough:
“Finally, an inspiring drink worth talking about. With the market flooded with a plethora of vodkas,
and dare I say, wannabe vodkas, WOKKA SAKi is definitely one that stands out - daring to be different.”
Guiliano Moradin, Bar Manager, The Dorchester Hotel:
“A wonderful product, very clean and very smooth”
Gian-Carlo D’Urso, Bar Manager, Hakkasan:
“WOKKA SAKi is a refined, eclectic spirit with an elegant body and soft finish; pleasant to drink neat or on ice.
I am fascinated by its complexity.”
Paul Birtwistle, Bar Manager, Zuma Restaurant:
"An exceptional blend of two very different products and cultures.
Inspired in both flavour and design, WOKKA SAKi should prove to be a timeless creation!"
WOKKA SAKi (40% abv) is a blend of micro distilled British grain vodka, fine Japanese sake (80:20), and the subtle essence of Asian fruit. It creates an entirely new category beyond the flavoured vodka sector. Exceptionally smooth, it has a fresh subtle essence of peach and apricot.
Winning Gold and double Gold medals in the prestigious San Francisco International Spirits Competition for three consecutive years in the flavoured vodka category is an unrivalled achievement.
Highest category rating of 96 out of 100 by The Wine Enthusiast and Spirit Journal by Paul Pacult (aka 'The Spirits Guru USA').
Nominated by Wine Enthusiast magazine for 2005 Distiller of the Year, amongst other established contenders:
Appleton Estate, Johnnie Walker, Laird's AppleJack, Tanqueray. Winner announced mid November 2005, New York.
Positioned in the luxury sector, WOKKA SAKi represents the fusion of two cultures – east meets west. Its creation was inspired by the awesome beauty of 'Snow Monsters' – a natural wonder in the landscape when the giant conifers are encrusted with layers of snow and ice in Japan's Asahi mountains. Design features reflecting this imagery include the unusual sea-blue glass of the bottle, through to the embossed frosted details of the label.
