“The Literary Review has been handing out the Bad Sex in Fiction Award for a good few years now, so we thought it was time people were encourage to write some good sex,” says LoveHoney’s erotic fiction expert Bonny Hall. “But the added twist is that every story must feature a product that LoveHoney sells - it’s the Bulgari Connection for sex toys!”

Named in honour of Fay Weldon’s product-placement novel, The LoveHoney Vulgari Award for Erotic Fiction is open to anyone aged 18 and over. Judged by a panel of men and women, including a previously published erotic novelist, a former commissioning editor for Nexus Books and LoveHoney's erotic books buyer, the competition requires that all stories must involve at least one of the sex toys available from www.LoveHoney.co.uk

“LoveHoney.co.uk sells more than 8,000 products so entrants won’t be stuck for ideas,” says LoveHoney’s Bonny Hall. “From a rabbit vibrator saving your life to the erotic possibilities of a love-triangle with a sex doll, there are plenty of products to get the creative juices flowing.”

There are two categories in the LoveHoney Vulgari Awards: one for longer erotic stories (3,000 to 5,000 words) with a £500 cash prize for the winner and two runner-up prizes of £100, and another for quickies - shorter stories (500 to 800 words) with a first prize of £100 of LoveHoney sex toys and £50 of sex toys for two runners-up.
