We’ve all enjoyed watching celebrities in the Australian jungle eat yet another mealworm whilst we are relaxing on our sofas 1000's of miles away however, take fright, we are no longer safe………

Toy creators Upstarts have devised a brand new board game which will mean that parties will never be the same again! The Really Wild Bug Eating Party asks you to don your bandana and get munching in a game of challenges designed to crown the ultimate bug eating champion.

The bugs on the menu include crickets, ants, meal-worms and, for the ultimate loser of the game, – a snack of a scarily creepy scorpion

The game includes invitations to send out to friends (or victims) and starts with the host dividing the players into two teams (or tribes) with each nominating a tribal leader who dons the Amazonian bandanna. Before each challenge, the host spins the spinner to select which species of bug is to be eaten first and then every team member is given a pictorial Bug Card to hold. The players then compete over a Challenge and the member of the losing team whose Bug Card matches that on the spinner has to get munching!

The tribe who win the highest number of Challenges is crowned the victor whilst the other team’s fate is sealed. All the members are dealt a mixture of Bug Cards and Scorpion cards with the player who ends up holding the most Scorpion Cards is left to devour the scorpion…yummy!

With challenges including mental and physical tests such as who can do the most sit-ups in one minute to who can spit a frozen pea the furthest to who can memorise the longest number, getting crowned the bug eating champion is no walk in the jungle!

This game guarantees laughter, tears and many squeamish faces and is destined to be the must-have party or dinner party game for the New Year.

The Really Wild Bug Eating Party is for two to ten players, aged 14+ and will be available in Argos for a special offer price of £14.99 in the new Spring/Summer catalogue from the end of January 2006. It is also available in Toys R Us priced at £19.99.
