IT Outsourcer acquires Apple specialist Topology
- LuxTech makes key investment to underwrite expansion drive to access the Creatives market
London, UK, June 12th, 2006 - LuxTech, a leader in outsourced IT support and telephony services has acquired the assets, employees and customer contracts of Apple technology specialist Topology UK Ltd. The deal extends the reach and capability of LuxTech’s convergence business into the publishing and creative sector; a market that has been a traditional stronghold for Apple Mac products. Topology, based in High Wycombe, has been established for over 10 years with 15 staff, and a turnover of £2.4M.
Russell C Lux, MD at LuxTech, comments on the new addition to his company’s portfolio, “Obtaining engineers and technicians with the skills and experience in Apple technology was a key factor in this deal. We wanted to be able to offer and support our services to all business sectors regardless of their technology platform. The Topology staff will relocate to our new- Camden based headquarters and this will increase our total number of staff to over 40”.
Topology also brings a number of prestigious new clients to the LuxTech fold, including M & C Saatchi, Bauer Publishing and other well known city based advertising and media agencies.
Founded in 2001, LuxTech has grown rapidly to become one of London’s fastest growing IT outsource and telephony businesses with year on year growth of over 100%. LuxTech is a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, and designs, builds and supports complete IT and telephony infrastructures for their clients including all computer and networking services. The company has also moved into the IP telephony arena by becoming a principal reseller of the Swyx, software based IP PBX solution. The Topology acquisition is expected to see LuxTech’s revenues increase this year to £4.5M.
Russell, continues, “This acquisition is part of a strategic plan to develop a truly convergent IT and telephony business. LuxTech has established a very successful business in the Microsoft market and last year we extended our capabilities by adding telephony with the acquisition of Voice specialist, Communications Support Services Ltd. We are actively pursuing three other acquisition targets and will make further announcements within the next six months. By the end of these acquisitions LuxTech expect to report revenues in excess of £18M per year.
