ORGANIC CHRISTMAS CRANBERRY ‘CRACKERS’
Cranberries and Christmas go together and this year you can enjoy two ethical, organic cranberry goodies thanks to Venture Foods. Its Geo Organics Organic Cranberry Sauce and Organica Dark Chocolate Bar with Cranberries are bound to satisfy your ethics as well as your taste buds during the festive season.
Geo Organics Cranberry Sauce
Crammed with organic cranberries and sugar, this sauce is gluten free and vegan. It is free of artificial colours and additives and is simply thickened to dropping consistency with fruit pectin. It has an enjoyable bitter ‘bite’ with the cranberry pieces adding texture and a tingle on the taste buds! The sauce is pleasantly sweet – but not overly so: the distinctive cranberry flavour comes through clearly. The Geo Organics Organic Cranberry Sauce is certified organic by the Soil Association and retails for £1.49 for 200g.
Suggestion: enjoy it hot or cold and don’t just keep it for the Christmas turkey. Serve it with a cheese board, pop a dollop into field mushrooms with a slice of brie and bake for a hot, seasonal starter. Serve warm with nut roasts and vegetable pies or spread onto hot crostini for festive finger food.
Organica Swiss Dark Chocolate Bar with Cranberries
Bittersweet cranberry bites are generously heaped into this irresistible Swiss organic “nearly dark” 65% cocoa solids chocolate bar. It carries both the Fair Trade and Soil Association seals of approval and is gluten free, vegan and non-GM. A 100g bar retails for around £1.89.
Suggestion: pop the bar into a loved one’s stocking or hide it inside another present for a sweet surprise on Christmas Day. Snap it into squares and serve with coffee for a seasonal flourish at the end of a festive meal.
