ROSES ARE RED FOR JONATHAN ROSS
Survey results released February 2008 have crowned TV funny man Jonathan Ross and his flame-haired wife Jane Goldman as the sweetest celebrity couple, and named doomed duo Ashley Cole and Cheryl Tweedy as the most likely couple to split up in 2008.
Lovehearts.com, the UK’s biggest online sweetie store, conducted a poll from 10 January to 1 February 2008, ahead of the most romantic day of the year, 14 February, and discovered which couples the Great British Public truly believe in.
Jonathan Ross and wife Jane, who have been happily married for 20 years, pipped celebrity sweethearts Posh and Becks to the top spot and beat off A-list competition such as Brangelina and Tom-Kat.
The top ten most loved up celebrity couples of 2008 are as follows:
1.Jonathan Ross and Jane Goldman (24%)
2.David Beckham and Victoria Beckham (18%)
3.Sharon and Ozzy (12%)
4.Katie Price and Peter Andre (10%)
5.Gwen Steffani and Gavin Rossdale (9%)
6.Coleen and Wayne Rooney (7%)
7.Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (6%)
8.Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan (5%)
9.Sheree Murphy and Harry Kewell (4%)
10.Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes (3%)
Following recent revelations about his alleged infidelity, the celebrity couple that the nation has the least faith in is Ashley Cole and Cheryl Tweedy. Band mate Nadine and love rat Jesse Metcalfe came a close second, despite Nadine moving her family out to L.A.
They were shortly followed by sparring couple Charlotte Church and Gavin Henshaw, Strictly Come Dancing duet Matt and Flavia and fame hungry twosome Jodie Marsh and Matt Peacock, who wed in 2007 during a reality TV show.
Swizzels Matlow, the company behind Love Hearts, has created a limited edition of personalised Love Heart wrappers especially for Jonathan and Jane, carrying the message “Jonathan and Jane, sweetest celebrity couple 2008”.
Andrew Matlow – communications director at Swizzels Matlow, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year – said: “Jonathan and Jane look like a truly smitten couple, and it seems visitors to Lovehearts.com agree. Love Hearts have been the UK’s most romantic treat since Swizzels Matlow launched them in the 1950s, so it seems fitting that they crown Britain’s sweetest celebrity couple with their own personalised Love Hearts wrapper!”

Five things you can do with Love Hearts:
1.Chocolate is the food of love. So why not try a chocolate fondue to share? Mix 300g of melted chocolate with 300ml of boiling double cream. Pour into a fondue bowl and dip in all your favourite Swizzels sweets, toasted marshmallows and strawberries.
2.Simple, sensuous Love Hearts dessert. Buy some hand made shortbread rounds and layer with ice cream or sugared, whipped cream, then drizzle round the plate with raspberry coulis (blitz raspberries in a blender and sieve to remove the seeds) and decorate the plate with Love Hearts.
3.Love Hearts table dressing. Use a clean, white table cloth and set for dinner. Scatter the table with carefully selected Love Hearts and rose petals. Drop a few additional Love Hearts in the glasses. Don’t forget flowers – try red tulips as a change from roses.
4.Love Hearts cup cakes. If you don’t have time to bake homemade cup cakes, why not buy some plain ones and decorate them yourself. Icing sugar and a little egg white mixed well are all you need. Spread a small amount on the cup cakes and add a Love Heart of your choice. Remember there are ‘Marry me’ Love Hearts as well for any romantics wanting to pop the question this year.
5.A mountain of Love Hearts. Say it with sweets and buy your sweetheart a mountain of ‘I love you’ Love Hearts.
