Specialist Solicitors Mayo Wynne Baxter Joins the Top Ranks in Chambers UK

Sussex, Surrey and Kent based solicitors Mayo Wynne Baxter has been recognized for outstanding practice in two specialist areas of the law in the prestigious Chambers UK directory. The directory is compiled by carrying out 1000's of interviews with lawyers and clients to seek out the top legal firms and practitioners.

The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.

Mayo Wynne Baxter’s Clinical Negligence team was ranked in Band 1 – the highest -and Simon Baillie-Hamilton was ranked as a “Notable Practitioner” in Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

The Clinical Negligence specialist team, which achieved a Band 2 rank last year, impressed the commentators with the strength of its clinical negligence advice. Melanie Minter, who heads up the team, was singled out for praise with comments such as: “Clients declare “there is no mucking around with the straight-talking” Melanie Minter, because “she gets right to the heart of a matter.”

Simon Baillie-Hamilton, who leads the agriculture team at Mayo Wynne Baxter, was also commended for his work which was “aided by his first-hand experience” on a family farm and as a chartered surveyor. Interviews with clients revealed him as “pragmatic and easy to deal with."
