SECURE COMPUTING AWARDED BECTA ACCREDITATION

SECURE COMPUTING AWARDED BECTA ACCREDITATION FOR INTERNET FILTERING

Burgeoning opportunity for Secure Computing channel partners in the Education market

LONDON, UK — 26 June 2007 — Secure Computing Corporation (NASDAQ: SCUR), a leading enterprise gateway security company, today announced that it has been awarded Internet Filtering Product accreditation by the British Education Communications and Technology Agency (Becta), the organisation that assists the UK Government in using technology to raise educational standards.

“We are very excited to have been accredited by Becta. It is real validation of our Internet filtering capability. It was a rigorous testing process that really put our product through its paces, and rightly so, as it’s imperative that students are protected from inappropriate content,” said Mike Smart, EMEA product manager, Secure Computing. “This also presents a huge opportunity for our channel partners in the education space to be able to offer customers not only a recognised, but now an accredited web filtering solution.”

The Becta Accreditation of the Internet Services to Education scheme enables educational establishments to make an informed choice when purchasing filtering products and services. Secure Computing’s accreditation recognises the strength of its web filtering product, SmartFilter®, and enables the company to deliver its solutions to schools, local authorities and colleges to help them use technology free of risk in line with national strategies and regulations on safe Internet use in education.

Andy Pyper, E-Safety Consultant at BGfL Network Services (part of Service Birmingham), added: “It was only a matter of time until Secure Computing achieved Becta accreditation. They’ve been a partner of ours for several years, and not only have we found their SmartFilter system to be completely stable and very accurate, but also as a company they are proactive and supportive.”

Becta’s evaluation examined Secure Computing’s ability to filter inappropriate content across a random sample of websites found using search engines such as Google. To pass accreditation, tested products are required to block at least 90 percent of websites in five categories:

·Adult (sexually explicit) material
·Violence and bomb making
·Racist and anti-religious material
·Illegal taking or promotion of drugs
·Software piracy

Peter Hodgson, Chief Executive Officer of Telocator, concluded: “Secure Computing’s product is web filtering at its best, using a reputation-based system that proactively monitors web sites, unlike many of the less advanced systems available on the market that simply block all sites, both bad and good. The organisational establishments responsible for the wellbeing of other people’s children can purchase Secure Computing’s web filtering product with confidence.”
