VINEXPO 2007: Ready to go
Vinexpo will be open from 17 to 21 June 2007 in Bordeaux and is already fully booked.
The 14th Vinexpo, hailed as the Global Business Forum, will feature a host of innovations, including a whole new section dedicated to marketing. There will be Marketers by Vinexpo, the Club du Lac and a new floating bridge on the lake to link the two parts of the exhibition and give easier access to the conference halls and tasting rooms. Providing more and more services and welcoming exhibitors and visitors in style remains one of Vinexpo’s priorities.
VINEXPO IS WHERE MARKET PLAYERS CONVERGE
By November of last year, nearly 2,400 exhibitors from 45 countries had reserved sites for their stands on a total exhibition floor area that was deliberately limited to 41,000 sq. m. The major producing regions of the world will be represented through individual companies and the national pavilions of some large countries, such as Italy, Spain, France and USA. The New World countries have confirmed their ambition to conquer new markets with the presence of Chile and Wine of South Africa.
Leading international operators are exhibiting at Vinexpo: Constellation and the return of E&J Gallo Winery (USA); Marques de Caceres, Miguel Torres and Domecq Wine España (Spain); Luigi Cecchi & Figli and Gruppo Italiano Vini (Italy); Skalli Family Wines, C.V.B.G. Dourthe-Kressmann, Groupe Boisset, Rémy-Cointreau, Champagne Louis Roederer, Baron Philippe de Rothschild (France); Sogrape and The Symington Family Port Companies (Portugal); Henkell & Söhnlein Sektkellereien (Germany); Concha Y Toro and Santa Rita (Chile), Trapiche (Argentina), Distell Ltd. (South Africa), and not least, Cristall Moscow Distillery (Russia) and many others.
Concentration in the industry has created new large groups, which of course choose Vinexpo as a showcase. We welcome to Vinexpo for their first appearance Groupe Belvédère (France) and Grupo Dos Sete (made up of the 7 leading companies in Portugal).
As always, a wide variety of lively companies that fully understand the importance of being at Vinexpo will be present, among them: Angus Dundee (UK), Les Grands Chais de France (France), Nemiroff (Ukraine), Wente Family Estate (USA), La Martiniquaise (France), Château Kefraya (Lebanon).
See the full list on www.vinexpo.com.
MARKETERS BY VINEXPO – A NEW RANGE OF SOLUTIONS
Marketers, a section of Vinexpo dedicated to the marketing of wine and spirits, is a source of further interest for visitors and the marketing and sales managers of exhibiting companies. Koala Internacional (Spain), Skalli & Rein Consulting (France) and Dakls (Czech Republic) are but three amongst the specialist companies in the publishing, packaging, marketing or point of sale sectors which will be present.
This section, which was designed to meet a strong demand from visitors and exhibitors, who are more and more involved in marketing issues, already has more than 40 exhibitors with a total exhibition floor space of 2,000 sq. m.
MARKETERS by Vinexpo, will be held from 17 to 21 June 2007 at the Bordeaux Convention Centre. It is just a few minutes away from the main Vinexpo exhibition by shuttle bus or on foot across the new lake footbridge.
A “PASSERELLE” TO SYMBOLISE TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, INNOVATION AND COMMUNICATION
A major innovation at Vinexpo 2007 will be a floating bridge between the two banks of the lake that will stimulate traffic between the Convention Centre and the Exhibition Centre.
This walk across the water will make it easier for pedestrians to attend presentations and Marketers. It also enables a new entrance to the exhibition to be put in place beside the Convention Centre, which will ease pedestrian flow around the site.
The 430-metre long floating bridge, manufactured in the USA, uses a unique process with a modern attractive design consistent with Vinexpo’s reputation. The Vinexpo “Passerelle” is a masterpiece of innovative and technical expertise. It sets a new world record in length for a bridge of its type. The safety organisations have already approved its great stability and strength. Bordered with fountains it creates a floating red carpet arrival in the heart of the new Club du Lac.
THE “CLUB DU LAC”, AN EXCLUSIVE NEW AREA
This new site of 13 air conditioned lake-side pavilions, with private gardens of 260 sq metres and patios, is designed to create the ideal ambience for entertaining customers.
All sites have been reserved by leading international companies:
Diageo Wines (Barton & Guestier), Gallo Winery (E. & J.), Baron Philippe de Rothschild, C.V.B.G.- Dourthe-Kressmann, Concha Y Toro, Constellation, Les Grands Chais de France, Lanson, Laroche, Marnier-Lapostolle, Champagne Louis Roederer, Champagne Deutz, Champagne Taittinger.
CONFERENCES AND TASTINGS – VENUES FOR PROFESSIONALS TO MEET AND EXCHANGE IDEAS
Throughout the whole exhibition, a large number of presentations and tastings will take place in the beautiful rooms of the Convention Centre and those in Halls 2 and 3.
The full events programme will be announced in May, but you can already note the 1st high interest events, such as: the “Drinks Business BRIC forum” by Drinks Business, “Separated by the Atlantic Ocean – a new study of wine drinking habits and practices in USA and UK” by Wine Intelligence or “How to highlight the role of wine and its service in restaurants” by Vinexpo with reputed speakers (Philippe Faure-Brac – Best Sommelier in the World 1992, Guy Woodward – Decanter, Ch’ng Poh Tiong – The Wine Review and Chinese Bordeaux Guide).
To round off its contribution in the field of marketing, Marketers will also organise conferences, especially “The influence on the consumer of wine packaging” by the Amorim Academy.
Another highlight during Vinexpo will be the lunch organised by Drinks Business and the Masters of Wines (?), when the Lifetime Achievement Award, given to Robert Mondavi in 2005, will again be conferred. (Should this be Masters of Wine?)
Vinexpo also focuses significantly on tastings with “The saga of the great Burgundy reds, 1985-2005”, “The wines of the pays de l’Atlantique, 2006 vintage”, “Tasting Japanese Saké – a noble and sophisticated drink”, “The origin of vineyard classification in Germany”, “All the facets of Sangiovese, a true Tuscan grape variety”, and “The great Spanish wines”.
THE NEW VINEXPO.COM WEB TOOLS
The new version of our website vinexpo.com gives our exhibitors, visitors and partners access to more services and information. Using the web tool My Vinexpo, visitors will be able to prepare their trip, see the programme or print the exhibition map. The Exhibitors’ Interactive Guide simplifies the exchanges between exhibitors and Vinexpo by bringing together in one place all the items they need to get the most out of their participation at the exhibition.
The Media Corner offers specifically categorised information (press releases, press packs, photos, etc.) and enables journalists to pre-register and obtain their electronic badges by E-mail. This badge is valid for the duration of the exhibition and gives direct access, without having to queue, to Vinexpo, the Press Centre and to Marketers.
