Emerald acquires parts of Elsevier’s Social Sciences Books list

Emerald Group Publishing Limited has acquired Elsevier’s Social Science Book Series, Serials and Monographs. The titles will further strengthen Emerald’s position as the world’s leading publisher of management research.

With over 40 years’ publishing experience Emerald continues to expand its portfolio to include a diverse and eclectic range of titles within business, management and library & information services. The publisher offers 40 years of experience to support the titles it acquires and seeks to enhance the quality and further the distribution of every title in its portfolio.

Cathy Mostyn, Director of Acquisitions at Emerald, says, “We have a well developed schedule to integrate the titles whilst ensuring that customers, authors and editors receive all the support necessary during the transition. The new titles from Elsevier provide a very good fit with our existing portfolio in numerous management subject areas including: arts and humanities; business and management: accounting; economics and finance; organisational behaviour psychology; psychology; and social and behavioural sciences.”

Emerald will publish the titles from January 1, 2008, bringing the total number of titles we publish to almost 2000.
